Tuesday,
August 10th, at approximately 1900 hours Livonia Fire Department
was dispatched on a mutual aid assignment for a structure
fire on Niver Road in Conesus. First arriving units found
light smoke coming from a large, heavily modified wood frame
farm house. Initial attack by Conesus and Livonia found
extensive fire within the interior walls of the building.
Units remained on scene for a number of hours. Due to the
extensive renovation of the building, the fire was particularly
difficult to extinguish because of many void spaces and
multiple roofs.

At
15:24 hours Friday, June 11, 2010, Lakeville and Livonia
Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle
accident with fuel leaking on 5931 Big Tree Road, Lakeville.
Upon arrival the first units found a Federal Express tractor
trailer truck that had swerved off the highway and was
jammed on top of a bridge guardrail. After quickly assessing
the situation, members from Lakeville and Livonia placed
oil-absorbing booms and pads in the small creek to prevent
diesel fuel from entering Conesus Lake. The vehicle was
stabilized and members of the Livingston County Haz-Mat
Team removed approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel
from the tractor's saddle tanks. Units remained on scene
working with the tow operators until removal of the vehicle
and cleanup of the spill was accomplished. Last units
left the scene at approximately 21:15 hours.
