Tuesday, September 13, 2011, Livonia Engine 256 responded to a mutual aid request from East Avon Fire Department to provide a fill-in in their hall. While enroute the company was re-routed to the scene of a propane explosion and fire at the Burnwell Propane Company in Mumford, New York. Engine 254 was requested from Livonia to the scene. Engines 256 and 254 operated in the tanker shuttle system that provided water supply at the scene.
