The Livonia Joint Fire District is a separate entity from the Livonia Fire Department. The district is a government entity, responsible for the budget and taxation. The fire department is a non-profit 501(c)3. While a separate entity, this information is provided by the fire department as a community partner.
The fire district board of commissioners is comprised of five volunteers who live within the district and are appointed by the town and village boards.
